Brian Bolland is a comic artist best known for 1988's The Killing Joke, which Tim Burton has cited as his favorite comic.[citation needed] An actual piece of Bolland's art was used in the film for the card patches on the Joker Goon's jackets. The Batman portion of the card was replaced with a mirror image of the above Joker image.
In 2007, Bolland illustrated the visage of Jack Napier standing in Axis Chemicals for the official DC origin.
